Taking Charge: Women, Emotions And Genetics

Taking Charge: Women, Emotions And Genetics
~ Gwilda Wiyaka ~
There is no denying it, women are complex, dynamic and emotional creatures. So much so that at times, it can be difficult to manage our emotional state. Yet do we give any thought to where our emotions come from? Are they stimulated by events in the present moment? Dredged up from unprocessed experiences of our past? Are they the sum and total of our life’s experience, or are they dictated by hormones and even genetics? What personal power can be discovered by understanding and working with our emotions? Can our lives and relationships be enriched if we do?

With us this hour to explore women’s emotions, hormones and genetics is Dr. Dawson Church. Dr. Church is an award winning author whose best selling book, “The Genie in Your Genes,” has been hailed by reviewers as a breakthrough in our understanding of the link between emotions and genetics. His follow up title, “Mind to Matter,” reviews the science of peak mental states. He founded the National Institute for Integrative Healthcare to study and implement promising, evidence based psychological and medical techniques. Dawson shares how to apply the breakthroughs of energy psychology through EFTUniverse.com.

One Woman’s Healing Journey

One Woman’s Healing Journey
~ Gwilda Wiyaka ~
So often, when we think of an empowered woman, we envision a woman that competes and excels in a predominantly masculine arena. Currently, many of us are doing exactly that. Yet to do so, we may step out of our natural expression, causing undue stress, resulting in imbalance and illness.
As women, while we can do a great job of many things formally considered masculine activities, aren’t we cheating ourselves and the world if we don’t include our feminine gifts of nurturing, healing and intuition?
How can we become empowered to use our unique gifts in every area of life? Can standing in full feminine expression transcend hardship and reestablish balance? Do we have the power to help ourselves, each other and the world to heal?
With us this hour, to share her own rich woman’s journey of healing and empowerment, is Kac Young. Kac is the author of twelve books including her latest, “The Healing Art of Essential Oils: A Guide to 50 Oils for Remedy, Ritual, and Everyday Use.” She is a former successful television director/producer and was one of the first few women to join the Director's Guild of America, serving as a prominent member of The Women in Film Board of Directors. Kac was Vice President of Television Production and Development at Universal Studios Hollywood and ran her own production company for 25 years. She earned a Ph.D. in Natural Health and is a Doctor of both Clinical Hypnotherapy and Naturopathy. Besides being an active teacher, counselor and coach, Kac is now dedicated to healing humans and animals and creating a long life through holistic methods.

Dreams the Hidden Messengers

Dreams the Hidden Messengers
~ Gwilda Wiyaka ~
Dreams – we all have them whether we remember them or not. We spend over one third of our time sleeping, and over twenty five percent of our sleep in dreams. This is true of humans as well as animals. Yet what is the purpose of dreams? Most of us simply shrug them off, if we remember them at all. Yet in so doing, we very well may be passing up an amazing amount of vital information. From processing to precognition, dreams are a rich resource when we learn how to work with them. Dreams are important to everyone, but like feminine intuition, women’s dreams can be particularly profound.
How can we learn to work with our dreams and unearth the hidden messages within? What impact can recalling and understanding our dreams have on our waking life and decision making capabilities? Can dreams give us messages about the future or health? Is the dream landscape set, or is it evolving as we do?

With us this hour to delve into the dreamscape is Dr. Christopher Sowton. Christopher is a naturopath and dreamworker. Based in Toronto, his practice focuses on dreamwork. Since 2003, Christopher has been training health care practitioners of all kinds to integrate dreamwork into their practice. He is a member of the IASD (International Association for the Study of Dreams) and has published 2 books on working with dreams – "Dreamworking – How to Listen to the Inner Guidance of Your Dreams,” and “The Dreamworking Manual – A Guide to Using Dreams in Health Care.”
